Vero Beach and the surrounding communities are blessed with some of the most beautiful beaches in Florida. Unspoiled and gently used, these areas of sand and surf provide the central feature around which life on the Treasure Coast is built. But Vero has more than just beautiful stretches of sand to offer its residents and visitors. This small city comes up big in culture and the arts. With the heat of summer upon us, The Star Team would like to take some time to reflect on some of the amazing cultural assets and events in Vero.

On the first Friday of every month, the art galleries along Main Street participate in the First Friday Gallery Stroll art walk. Come wander through the amazing art from 5pm until 8pm before having dinner at one of the fine dining establishments downtown.

Historic Dodgertown was the LA Dodgers spring training facility starting in 1953. Constructed during the Golden Age of Baseball, this historic landmark hosts the Memorial Day Invitational tournament this weekend, May 27th – 29th. Come grab some Cracker Jack and a hot dog and watch the nation’s pastime being played where Jackie Robinson, Duke Snider, and Roy Campanella once played. The history of baseball is ingrained in the cultural tapestry of this country and this historic field pays homage to the past with the play of potential future greats.

The beautiful Riverside Theatre facility hosts Comedy Zone Summer Nights. There are live concerts, craft beer and wine tastings, and comedy performances. There are also fun lawn games for the whole family. Come to the water for fun, food, and great entertainment.

Many of Vero Beach’s restaurants and lounges offer live music. One of The Star Team’s favorites is Grind + Grape located just off Ocean Drive at 925 Bougainvillea Lane by the beach. They have a wonderful wine selection, delicious coffee drinks, and great local and regional musical talent most nights. We recommend the delicious flatbread pizzas!

Perhaps the crown jewel of the rich Vero Beach cultural scene is the Vero Beach Museum of Art. Located in picturesque Riverside Park, this facility is the largest of its kind on the Treasure Coast. The fact that such a prestigious facility can thrive in a city of this size is a testament to the commitment to culture that the residents of Vero have. In addition to beautiful works of art, the museum hosts seminars not only on art but on topics ranging from philosophy to psychology. There are children’s programs and classes, master artist workshops, and many other enriching learning opportunities.

Vero Beach is so much more than the beaches. We hope everyone reading this gets to take advantage of the wonderful cultural opportunities in our beautiful city. Have a healthy and happy summer from The Star Team!
